OHSU-Legacy Health: Access
OHSU and Legacy Health plan to join as one health care system called OHSU Health. We see this as a once-in-a-generation chance to expand access to quality care in every community. Together, we can better achieve our missions to serve the people of Oregon.
Uniting OHSU and Legacy Health means more health care choices for all Oregonians. The new system will meet your whole family’s needs in your community. You’ll find preventive, everyday and specialty care in one coordinated network.

We’re setting goals for our service to the people of Oregon. These goals arise from four commitments: quality, equity, access and cost.

We’re setting goals for our service to the people of Oregon. These goals arise from four commitments: quality, equity, access and cost.
How we're committing to:
-
-
-
Access
-
Here are some ways we’re committing to access.
Wait times:
We aim to have fewer people waiting in emergency rooms or intensive care units for hospital beds. We will work to shorten wait times in the ER and intensive care.
Clinical trials:
Clinical trials are studies that test new treatments or ways to improve health. Patients who qualify can take part in these studies. We’ll expand access to clinical trials and other innovations.
Medicaid:
Serving Medicaid members will be a key priority for the new system. One of our top goals is to make sure Medicaid members keep access to Legacy providers and locations. Another is to maintain our status as the state’s largest provider of care to Oregon’s Medicaid members.
Virtual care:
We will expand access to virtual care for all patients.
Behavioral health:
Our goals include improving access to quality behavioral health care. We will measure this with screenings, interventions and referrals to treatment.
Reproductive care:
We will maintain or improve access to all aspects of reproductive health care. That includes a full range of medications.
